Each member of the Tribal Council and each officer elected or appointed hereunder shall take an oath of office prior to assuming the duties of such positions, by which oath he/she pledge himself/herself to support and defend the Tribe’s Constitution. The Chairperson or Secretary shall administer the following form of oath of office:

I, ______________________, do solemnly affirm that I will carry out faithfully and impartially the duties of my office to the best of my ability, and that I will promote and protect the best interests of my tribe, in accordance with our Constitution.
