A. Citations to abate and remove the vehicle(s) or vehicle part(s) in question shall clearly state that said vehicle(s) or vehicle part(s) will be removed within a specified time period as follows:

1. For first time violations, a citation will be issued as a warning for the responsible party to take the corrective action in removing vehicle(s) or vehicle part(s) in violation. The citation shall state the vehicle(s) or vehicle part(s) in violation shall be removed within seven days of the date of issuance. If corrective action is not taken with this period, a second violation will be issued to the responsible party.

2. As a result of failure to take corrective action from a warning citation, a second citation, in an amount not to exceed $25.00, shall be issued to the responsible party. The citation shall state that the vehicle(s) or vehicle part(s) in violation shall be removed within 30 days of the date of issuance. If corrective action is not taken within this period, the Wiyot Tribal Business Council shall impose penalties as described in WTC 10.05.100.

B. If the cited vehicle is located at a residence on Wiyot Tribe Reservation, the citation will be mailed and/or delivered to the corresponding address. If the cited vehicle is located on the roadway or undesignated property of Wiyot Tribe, the enforcement officer will attempt to identify the name and address of the last registered owner by contacting the Humboldt County vehicle abatement officer for assistance in issuing the citation to the responsible party. If identification cannot be made, the citation will be maintained on file for a period of no less than one year. [Ord. 12-01 Art. VIII, approved 12/1/01.]
