Article III. Processing Enrollment Application

A. The enrollment committee shall review applications and make recommendations to the Council. The enrollment committee shall review all enrollment applications and adoption petitions and shall consider the information provided in such applications, together with all other available evidence concerning the applicant’s eligibility for membership and make recommendations to the Council as to whether the application should be approved or rejected. Where the committee considers additional information is needed, it shall request such information from the person filing the application and shall request such person to appear before the Committee for a personal informal interview. The content and form for such written recommendation shall be approved by the Council.

B. Special Enrollment Provisions Involving Adopted Children by Families of the Wiyot Tribe. The enrollment committee shall review all enrollment applications involving children adopted by members of the Wiyot Tribe. These children shall be enrolled providing that the members provide evidence that these children were adopted through legal adoption procedures recognized by the state of California.
